Work Experience KDE 2001 - Present Core developer with the open source desktop project KDE (http://kde.org). Sponsored full time by Trolltech. Sit on the Board of Directors for KDE e.V., the project legal foundation. Maintain key components including in the libraries and workspace components. Serves as project spokesperson at events around the world as well as in the media. Seminole Canada Gas Company 2003 - 2004 System and network administration. Software development using C++, PHP and SQL. Project: Valtus Imagery 2004 Designed and implemented a high-availability Linux server cluster that hosted Oracle databases, custom Java applications, Tomcat/Apache, single-sign on services and multiterrabyte file storage facilities. Project: Flagworks Inc 2004 Designed and implemented a content managed e-commerce website for Flagworks Inc. Project: UrbanLizard.com 2002 - Present Designed and implemented a sophisticated and performant database-driven website for restaurant and entertainment listings. Includes an internal sales system and content management, a clients-only data update area and a public site with several types of search and browse options. Project: Alberta Securities Commission 2002 Development team leader and software architect for the Alberta Securities Commission public website. Database driven, it is fully content managed includig document libraries and provides automated replication of data from an internal Oracle database to a public PostgreSQL on Linux system. Mount Linux 1999-2001 Was brought on to lead the design and development of system administration software suite for Linux/UNIX for a start-up company with nine employees. Also performed business management duties ranging from office management to raising investment capital. Genisys International 1997-2000 Developed an integrated resource management system that tied warehousing, order entry, e-commerce and accounting together into one system. Linux and PostgreSQL based. Independant Computer Consultant 1994-1997 Contract development and system/network consulting on the Lower Mainland of the West coast of Canada. During this time was involved in numerous projects of various sizes including a database application for flooring inspectors and a civic government funded e-commernce and business intelligence project. Independant Computer Consultant 1991-1994 Various systems/network consultant positions in Hawaii, including sitting on the Board of Directors of the Waianae Coast Coalition for Human Services as Technical Chief and teach night school computer courses as the Hawaii Department of Education's youngest paid educator at the time. ICSD 1990 Student intern at the Information and Communications Services Department of the Department of Budget and Finance of the Hawaii State Government. Primarily C development on SunOS as well as some work with NAPLPS. Interests and Hobbies Acoustic guitar, philosophy and the arts, soccer (competitive league play), travelling and spending as much time as possible with my son. Technology also plays a large part in my avocational existence with KDE, public presentations and user group involvement being important parts that.
